I’ve been a fan of Harry Chapin’s music for many years, and saw him each time he came over to the Southport Theatre in England.
I’d been to many concerts before, and many later, but none of them can match the magic I saw each time he performed. Always at least 3 hours of pure joy. When he had a break during the performance he didn’t disappear, he would find his way into the audience and squeeze into any available piece of seating and listen to the band playing their songs.
At the interval he would go out into the foyer and talk, laugh, and joke with as many people as he could.
His performances, more than any others will remain with me for the rest of my life. Like Harry, they were unique….Luke.
