I’m 24, when Harry died I was just over a year old.

I’d always caught Taxi on the radio and Cat’s in the Cradle reminded me very much of my own childhood experience. But I couldn’t tell you who was the artist behind either song.

Then one day, about 2 or 3 years ago, I was driving home from work and a DJ said there was a concert where Harry Chapin songs would be played. One of the DJ’s then said, “you know man, when I listen to his music, it’s like a religious experience.” So there it was … I started listening and haven’t stopped. It’s still a religious experience. Some songs make me laugh, others make me sad and most make me think a little.

Here’s to an amazing talent, a voice not only through his music but through his actions …
