Harry Chapin has been a large part of my family’s musical life since 1973 when he first performed at Pfeiffer College (now Pfeiffer University) near Charlotte, NC. His band played there twice again in 1974.

Since that time my wife and I attended some 10-12 Chapin concerts all at Valley Forge Music Center. The last one being a few months before his death.

I would not let my wife buy a “Kiss for World Hunger” from Harry. A mistake I am reminded about until today.

Most importantly, my 16 year old daughter loves Chapin music. Owns all his albums (sorry CDs’s) and knows all the lyrics. Harry’s music through stories will never die as long a we have the heart to listen.
