Going to hear Harry Chapin live was an experience that I will never forget.
He would sing to and interact with the audience as if he were your close personal friend. Being a person who loves to sing and having done some singing for an audience, it never ceased to amaze me how Harry would sing with the group, then let the group go offstage and take a break, but Harry would stay onstage and continue singing until the group returned. They would pick up their instruments and begin playing and he would keep on singing. He would sing for 3 hours almost non-stop. That has always stuck in my memory as an example of total dedication to an endeavor.
